The Talking Cards: communication and affirmation tool for (not only) neuroatypicals

Hi! I'm Adriana and I'm an autist with three years of experience.

When in 2021, after half a year of consultations, tests and talks, I got my autism diagnosis, I felt like all the mismatched Tetris pieces finally fell in place. But it was only a begining of a new road.

I started to understand the reason for my socializing, work and health issues.

But there was another task in front of me: sorting my life in the alignment with the neuroatypical brain.

I understood then that I was missing an important thing: a tool for expressing my emotions while I'm getting muted, speeding into meltdown or having sensory overload.

Because one thing is knowing what you're coming through - but expressing it - it's a completely different "cup of tea".

As an artist, I always found that pictures can be a powerful tool for communication.

So to make communication between me and my husband easier and to help him prepare for my meltdowns, shutdowns and different needs, I've created a deck of magnetic cards that can be used to communicate your needs and feelings.

How can you use The Talking Cards?

All cards are magnetic, so you can designate a space - for example on the fridge - where you can put up a card whenever you need to share your feelings with other people.

Or you can put an affirmative card in the morning to help you go through the day.

Cards are available in two languages: English and Polish.

My dream is for neuroatypical people to be better understood – at school, at home, at work and as a result, less stressed and better rested.
